There
are two groups of people in the world...
innovators
imitators
Innovators solve
problems. Imitators tend to cause them.
By the nature of their ground-breaking work, innovators have to
come to an understanding of WHY things work the principles,
laws and insights that govern the universe before they can
create the structures, methodologies, tools and systems that are
actually HOW things work.
Those critically important WHY-TOs are usually invisible
hidden behind barriers like time, distance, cost,
ignorance or hard work.
Imitators see the effects the HOW-TOs and think
that's all there is to it. If they can just learn HOW TO do a thing,
they'll be in control.
Wrong!
Until you know WHY it works, you can NEVER be in control of a thing,
system, process or concept.
So
we end up with a world full of imitators wanting to know
HOW TO ("Don't bother me with all that other stuff, just tell
me HOW!" is their single-minded catchcry), and a handful of
innovators left to clean up the mess and
find safer, easier, better, smarter ways to make life easier for
the mindless majority.

own ideas on these matters especially business, and network
marketing in particular.

Plan At All?" It was one of the most well-written business
articles I've ever read.
I really appreciated that you talked about "Why-to's."
Frankly, very few authors/speakers take the time to explain
"why" things are important — they're in such a rush
to get to the "how-to's." But you took the time
to get behind the "how-to's" to the "reasons
why" — and that's what made your article so powerful
and so effective.
